A welcoming nocturnal woodland

For the 2019 edition of the International Furniture Fair of Milan (Salone Internazionale del Mobile), Frassinago designed the greenery for the space of B&B Italia, Flos and Louis Poulsen, designed by Studio Calvi Brambilla: one of the largest stands ever to be set up in the history of this important event. On the ground floor, one is welcomed by aerial exhibition platforms, in which the outdoor lighting elements of Flos illuminate like torches in a large dark room and the maples become shadows and reflections.
Climbing the stairs, the vast lounge area unfolds as a cosy outdoor café, under the fronds of the trees: a Mediterranean square during the summer evenings. Around the tables and chairs rise olive trees and holm oaks, planted directly in the ground. And one forgets that they are on the upper floor. The dark green foliage of the holm oaks and the silvery green of the olive trees become themselves sources of light, reverberating the light of the lighting elements inserted among the branches. The coolness of the woods and the warmth of a living room, joined together.
