A big Acer palmatum is lowered from above into the courtyard that brings light to the Unipol auditorium. Protected by a Corten curtain, the tree develops in this cylindrical environment, rising from a large circular tub that references the oculus above. Framed by the regular grid of the window, the foliage branches freely toward the sky, while tufts of lilyturf and box spheres grow next to its trunk. The green contrasts with the brown of the Corten and illuminates the interior of the building with colour.
