The new headquarters of Scarpa, a leader in mountain footwear production, is a large washed concrete parallelepiped: a materiality reminiscent of the rock and fortress of Asolo. The garden reflects the geometric elements of the facade, its lines and square frames, bringing them to the ground.
On a gravel bed, like a riverbed, long osmanthus hedges alternate with domes of yew in various sizes. Roses and hydrangeas compose the larger rectangular surfaces, while holm oaks stand at the openings and closures.
Points, lines, and geometries repeat using the same plant species to define a specific form. Each element follows a recurring texture: small leaves alternate with large-leaved masses, perforated leaves, and needle-like foliage. Frassinago composes a green score to accompany the sequence of volumes forming the building’s body.
