Chromavis
For the new Chromavis headquarters—an imposing black prism where pigments for cosmetics are produced—Frassinago has designed the greenery as a relaxing and invigorating presence, a restful horizon for the eyes of those working in the laboratories, as well as for clients, guests, and suppliers welcomed into what appears to be a large terrace.
Surprisingly, the terrace is actually a system of hanging gardens that open into meeting rooms, conceived as islands wrapped in shrubs and trees. These spaces are both functional as workplaces for focus and productivity and flexible and comfortable, like open-air rooms in a domestic garden.
Masses of grasses, evergreen Phillyrea shrubs, groves of holm oaks, and parrotia trees on grassy dunes create a gently undulating landscape, designed to provide distance and protection from the industrial district. The greenery embraces the architecture, enhancing its striking appearance of sharp, almost mineral-like lines.
